The tools

At Mission Asset Fund, we work closely with partner organizations to provide the training and financial tools to replicate Lending Circles in other communities. We frequently work with organizations that don’t have experience providing financial education to clients, much less managing loans. Our partners get a full range of tools that make it easy: an 8-hour financial curriculum, a step-by-step guide and even an online loan management system.

Your Money, Your Mission curriculum
In order to do better, you first have to know better; financial education is a key piece of the Lending Circles model. Our four-unit training covers: Money & Banking; ABCs of Credit & Borrowing Money; Financial Management Foundations; and Investing & Retirement Basics. Each unit comes complete with a PowerPoint presentation, a detailed agenda, instructor overview, instructor guide, and handouts.

Lending Circles Guide
An easy-to-use online guide that can be used by any organization, this includes step-by-step instructions on running the Lending Circles model. We cover Outreach, Enrollment, Group Formation, Client Support, Financial Capability and Evaluation. You need flyers in Chinese? A PowerPoint for your orientations? An outreach guide? A promissory note? Just download it and add your logo. Our guide comes complete with tools, tips and more.

Lending Circles Management System (LCMS)
With so many steps between application and receiving a loan distribution, our Lending Circle Management System (LCMS) keeps it running smoothly for clients and partner organizations alike. All partner organizations get access to the LCMS, a content management system built on the Salesforce platform, to manage the Lending Circles program.  LCMS helps everyone to keep track of application materials, loan activity and credit reports.

Forum
We are always learning. Our partner organizations are invited to participate in an online community forum. Run into a snag with your outreach? Not sure how to enter a client into the LCMS? The Forum is a place to ask the questions that others are thinking about, a place for sharing solutions and successes.
